About this tour

Join me on this half-day private tour as we uncover the hidden world of espionage in Cold War Berlin, the city where the intelligence services of East and West confronted one another on a daily basis. A private vehicle will pick us up and drive us to Berlin's former NSA listening station before taking us out to the Bridge of Spies and returning us safely to the Allied Museum. After that, we'll take a short U-Bahn ride to Checkpoint Charlie, a nexus for Cold War activity.

Together we'll discover how Berlin's unique position, geographically and geopolitically, turned it into the world's foremost arena for intelligence gathering, where the CIA, NSA, MI6, KGB, GRU, and the Stasi's HVA waged an invisible struggle that helped shape global events for nearly half a century.

As someone who grew up in Allied West Berlin during the final decade of the Cold War, I'll also share what it was like to live in a city where this hidden conflict formed the backdrop to everyday life, providing context to the remarkable history behind the places we visit.
